The PRI Approach
We are stoked that PRI is recognised online as help for ongoing, widespread (possibly complex) musculoskeletal issues as a starting point. PRI aims to help people with its techniques and holistic approach because your movement, body and brain are a system.
As the song goes “the knee bone is connected to the thigh bone”. PRI is the science of asymmetry which has led to the concept of “pre-determined” asymmetrical postures that help provide a predictable roadmap for especially for aches and pains that “came out of nowhere” or have been ongoing for a disproportionate time for what the injury is. It seeks to help you help yourself by being a movement, neuromuscular sensory and exercise based therapy for your whole body.
How is PRI different to chiropractic or other movement or physical therapy based approaches?
Every practitioner is unique and we cannot comment on how other practices or individuals would approach care. Being a chiropractor AND a PRI certified practitioner means that Mei has a wide and unique skillset on how to help you.
It starts with a phone consult to understand your history and what has or happened for you to help guide the physical and movement assessment. This can be done either in person or online (however we do STRONGLY suggest making at least one session in-person).
PRI is intended to be used as a program as it is helping to re-pattern and re-process information for your body to learn a different response. Like any process, it takes time and consistency. If we are able to manage the stages of helping you return to what it is you want to return to it helps create a path forward with aims to be most efficient and effective as possible to help you self-manage your body.
If you would like to like to learn more about PRI please contact the practice here or call us on (02) 9482 9430. Or if you are ready to make an in-person appointment, book online with us here.
For rural or interstate visitors or for online consults, please contact the practice as these consults are held outside of the advertised hours of availability for Mei.
