About - Dr Olivia Thompson (Chiropractor)

Olivia believes the best care should be individual care, and so uses a combination of myofascial release, spinal and peripheral joint mobilisations and adjustments, Terminal Point Technique (TPT, or drop table), activator technique, hands-on rehabilitation and exercises, postural and sports taping, and provides advice on general well-being. She will happily tailor any of these techniques to suit the situation at hand for the best results and patient comfort.

Olivia’s extensive sporting history and exposure to a competitive level have led to an interest in lower limb biomechanics. She appreciates the important relationship between aligned and strong hips, knees, and ankles, and the overall functional movement needed for everyday life. Whether it is a sporting-related injury, post-surgical rehabilitation, chronic pain, or just “a little twinge,” Olivia offers an individualised treatment plan to reduce pain, optimise mobility and prevent further injury.

“Just because common injuries are common, doesn’t mean they’re normal” – outside of the sporting field, Olivia also has an interest in the treatment and management of temporomandibular joint (TMJ) dysfunctions, often referred to as TMD. As someone who knows the effect TMD can have on life, Olivia enjoys educating and working with patients to overcome jaw pain to best enjoy life.

Away from work, you’ll often find Olivia at the local netball courts. She still plays competitively in Netball NSW’s Metro League, has achieved her National A umpire accreditation, officiates NSW’s best netball competition, Premier League, and loves being involved with the community at all levels. She also enjoys gardening and cooking, and seizes any chance to be outdoors with her husband, family, and her two cats, Zeus and Hades.

Whether it is on the sporting field or on the court, or just in the garden on the weekend, having optimal mobility and strength is key for injury prevention and long-term health. Olivia is here to help you get the best out of your body to be a part of life!
